Clarity Often Begins With Space

After a couple of weeks away in Norway and the Nordics, I came back with a renewed sense of perspective on the work I want to keep building.

There is something about being in nature, especially somewhere as expansive as Norway, that changes the scale of your thinking.

The landscape creates distance from the everyday. Thoughts settle. Noise recedes. You begin to notice more clearly what matters, what has shifted, and where your attention naturally wants to go.

That stayed with me because it connects closely to the work I care most about.

In coaching, clarity does not always come from thinking harder, analysing more, or moving faster. Sometimes it comes from creating enough space to notice what is already there.

For me, this time away reinforced the themes I want to keep exploring in my work: leadership, transition, meaningful contribution, and the choices we make when our perspective begins to evolve.

Not because everything necessarily needs to change. Often, the shift is more subtle than that. The way we relate to our work, our ambitions or our definition of success can change before anything on the outside does.

That is one of the reflections I am bringing back from Norway.

Space is not the opposite of progress.

Sometimes, it is what allows us to see the next step more clearly.
