There is a moment I often witness in coaching.
It’s quiet. Subtle.
A client pauses, reflects, and says something slightly different than before.
Not because they’ve learned something new.
But because something has become clearer.
That moment is why I love coaching.
Coaching is not about being lost
Many people think coaching is for when you don’t know what to do.
In my experience, that’s rarely the case.
The people I work with are often:
- capable
- thoughtful
- already moving forward
And yet, something doesn’t fully align.
They sense that:
- the way they are working no longer fits
- the pace is not sustainable
- the decisions they make are not fully connected to what matters
Coaching is not about finding direction.
It’s about refining it.
A fascination with people
What continues to draw me to this work is a deep curiosity about people.
Not only what they do, but how they think, decide, and respond under pressure.
I’m often struck by how much awareness is already there.
And at the same time, how easy it is to stay in that awareness without acting on it.
That combination of capability and humanity is where coaching becomes meaningful.
Awareness is not enough
Most people don’t need more insight.
They already know what is not working.
They can articulate what they want differently.
And still, nothing changes.
Not because they lack clarity.
But because the step into action is missing.
Coaching supports that shift.
From:
awareness → forward action
Coaching as a space for transition
I see coaching as a space for transition.
Not only external transitions, like a new role or context.
But internal ones.
The shift from:
- reacting → choosing
- performing → leading
- knowing → acting
These shifts don’t happen automatically.
They require space, attention, and a different kind of conversation.
What I love most
What I love most is not the insight.
It’s the moment where something becomes actionable.
Where a conversation moves from:
“I know this”
to
“I’m going to do something with it”
Not in a dramatic way.
But in a way that is intentional and sustainable.
A simple question
There is a chance you already know what needs to shift.
A decision.
A next step.
Something you are aware of.
But not yet acting on.
What would it look like to move forward with it?
